At Umberleigh Academy we feel that children's play is as important as any other aspect of the curriculum, as through playing they learn so much: problem-solving skills, imagination and creativity, language and observation skills, and memory and concentration. 

With this in mind, we have implemented the OPAL (outdoor play and learning) project.  Giving children permission and providing them with opportunities to play is essential for mental health, physical strength and creating friendships that will support your child for life.
